Website Disclaimer
By accessing TheDrivingSchool.ca (Gerry's Driving Academy), you are agreeing to the terms and conditions outlined in this disclaimer. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must immediately discontinue use of this website.

A Friendly Reminder:
We understand that many parents and students may overlook the Terms of Service, but we strongly encourage you to take a few minutes to read them carefully. Understanding these guidelines will help ensure a smooth and successful experience with Gerry’s Driving Academy—and avoid any surprises along the way.

You are required to complete all online modules by the Wednesday prior to your first in-car lesson.

-If the modules are not completed in full by this deadline, your course will be considered null and void, and you will receive a partial refund in accordance with our refund policy.

You are given a minimum of 6 weeks to complete the modules, which is more than sufficient time to finish the required 30 hours of online coursework.
⚠️ Please understand that this policy is strictly enforced to ensure that only committed students proceed with in-car lessons. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

If you complete your online modules ahead of schedule, feel free to reach out to us — we should be able to book your first in-car lesson sooner! We’re happy to accommodate early starters whenever possible.

Privacy & Security

We don’t share your personal information with anybody other than the companies we use to process your payment. We do not send unsolicited bulk email or postal mail. We do maintain mailing lists whose members assent expressly, verifiable, and revocable to being on them. In certain areas, such as the payment information entry page, we use industry-standard SSL-encryption to protect data transmissions.

REFUND POLICY

Once you have paid your deposit and your accounts have been activated:
You can request a refund, but a $132.74 + HST (total $150) non-refundable fee will apply to cover the costs associated with account/module activation.

⚠️ Course Completion Policy: MODULES

All course modules must be completed within the required time frame. If you fail to complete the required modules within the allotted time, your course will be terminated, and you will receive a refund minus applicable fees as outlined in our refund policy. We encourage students to stay on track to avoid additional fees or course termination.

Please Read Carefully There are no refunds once the course is in progress
(i.e., after in-car lessons have begun).
However, please note: If a student does not comply with the course requirements, Gerry’s Driving Academy reserves the right to terminate the course and, at our discretion, may issue a partial reimbursement of any remaining course fees. In such cases, the course will be considered null and void. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

If your accounts have not been activated: A $50 + HST refund processing fee will apply.
To request a refund, please email:
📧 refund@thedrivingschool.ca
(Copy and paste the email address into your email client.)

The in-car training must be completed within 1 year from the start date of your online modules. Failure to complete the in-car training within this timeframe will result in your course being declared null and void.
📌 Please note: This is a mandatory requirement set by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and is not negotiable.

License:
The student must upload his/her license to the  Trubicars module website.

IN-CAR CAMERA:
You can bring your own MICRO SD CARD to the car.

Recording of in-car lessons are optional.

IN-CAR: (10 hours)

You will spend a minimum of 10 hours driving (10 hours is included in the course cost). The in-car training will be provided by a licensed instructor in a vehicle with a dual brake control.  Additional lessons are at the rate of $65 (including hst) for a one-hour lesson.

- You must complete modules before you start your in-car lessons.

- To take advantage of the time reduction (1 year to 8 months), you must complete the course prior to scheduling your road test.  Every effort will be made to accommodate the road test date; however, the school will not rush a student through training just for this reason. We will not book more than one lesson every 10 to 14 days.

-Day time lessons will need to happen (during school hours). There will be TWO lessons that will be happening during the day. Those will be a highway trip (1.5 hours in length) and the evaluation (1 hour in length).

No-Show & Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a scheduled in-car lesson, you must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee.
If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, a $50.00 (including HST) per hour cancellation/no-show fee will apply. Example: 1 hour missed = $50.00 1.5 hours missed = $75.00
📌Important:
If a student accumulates two no-shows or late cancellations, all future lessons will be suspended until outstanding fees are paid in full.
Thank you for respecting your appointment times and helping us maintain an efficient schedule.

Also, we do not pick up students on the outskirts of the city. We will make arrangements to perform lessons after school or on weekends for these students.

The cost of your course does not include the use of a car for your road test. If you require a car for your road test, it is important that you inform the instructor during your in-car lessons, so he/she can schedule accordingly.

ALCOHOL AND DRUGS:

Please understand that TheDrivingSchool.ca takes a very strict approach when it comes to being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and driving.  As a G1 or G2 driver, your blood alcohol level must be ZERO!!!

Driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a Criminal Code Offence.

ALCOHOL: Students and parents need to understand that alcohol takes up to 24 hours to filter out of the body and to attain a ZERO blood alcohol level.  As a parent of a 16-year-old, you need to take responsibility and ensure the student does not go out and drink the night before their lessons.

DRUGS: Unfortunately, students often have easy access to drugs such as marijuana. Students often don't understand the consequences of driving under the influence of marijuana and other drugs. Don't forget, there are also some prescription medications that can impair driving - be sure to check the label.

If any in-car instructor suspects that a student is impaired by alcohol or drugs, they will be asked a series of questions. If we feel there is a risk, we will then cancel the lesson and the student will be responsible for the cost.

Remember that a lesson can be cancelled at NO CHARGE if you contact the instructor with 24 hours’ notice.
