Subject: being a better driver paper
Dear Gerry,
Well it is getting awfully close to the date that I could
potentially be getting my license and I still have not written you my
paper on how I plan on being a better driver. So here it is.
When signing up for your driving school I was really only hoping to
get in so that I could attend driving school with a couple of my friends
so I wouldn't be on my own for 25 hours of in class training. After
the first day, not going to lie, I was scared shitless of you. Not because
you were a scary man or anything like that, only because of the fact
that I knew I wasn't prepared to be there. I hadn't read my student
hand book, I barely knew anything about a car and I didn't even have
my g1 at the time. Being in your class was the beginning of me becoming
a better driver. You made me go home the night after I failed your in
class test and actually read and study the student hand book so that
I could go to the next class prepared and ready. Although I complained
plenty of times about how it was an unfair test, we both know it helped
me in the end. After I learned about vehicles and all the rules of the
road it was a totally different story in the car. My first lesson with
you was, I'm pretty sure the first time I have even drove a vehicle
and boy was I nervous. I felt fairly comfortable after that lesson though
and was even giving my parents tips while watching them drive afterwards.
The more I practice and the more lessons that I had the better of a
driver I was becoming. Such things as pedestrians always come first,
never drive sleepy and learn to relax when your at the wheel so you
arnt nervous are only a few of the things you have taught me. Watch
more then just 50 feet ahead of you and keep a look out for road signs,
the colors of the light ahead of you, where vehicles are around you,
and always make it obvious for everyone to know what you plan on doing
such as switching lanes, slowing down or stopping.
Well hopefully this paper was enough to convince you that you HAVE taught
me a lot in the 8 months that I have known you and I'm sure that coming
to your driving school has made me want to be a better driver and know
why I should be a better driver. See you soon, and don't worry this
time I have been practicing quite a bit!!
Stephanie
Hey Steph,
I can honestly say I will never
forget "your group". You girls complained about how hard the
written test was and how upset you were that I was not going to teach
the road test route. Keep out of trouble
and remember to drive within your limitations and take your parking
brake off before you drive!

The Driving school.ca is freakin sweet. Not only is it dirt cheap,
I learnt allot about driving safely and defensibly. I can't count the
amount of times I have heard friends of mine tell me "oh yeah my
driving school is so sweet, all I doo is sleep all class". And
they are paying way more than at thedrivingschool.ca. It's ridiculous.
I recommend all my friends to the driving school because its such a
money-saver, and you learn so much and you become such a good driver.
I know so many people that passed a different driving school and then,
even though they passed their driving test, they are terrible drivers,
and they are putting me and everyone else on the road at risk. Gerry
doesn't let that happen. If you suck, he's going to tell you, and you
are going to get better before he lets you go take that test, because
he understands the danger of letting people slack through driving school,
and after finishing thedrivingschool.ca, so do I.
How's that man? sorry about the delay, life's been busy, then I forgot...anyway,
let me know if that's good.
Jesse
Mr. Jesse.......... you are too funny! I had a
blast teaching you and I was happy to hear that you gave your friends
trouble for not wearing their seat belts! Good Job Jesse!!

hey dude,
sorry, I've been dragging my but on this testimonial thing. I'm just
not sure what to say!! so I'll say this; ( feel free to edit or ignore
if you don't like)
MY TESTIMONIAL;
................Being a few years older than the average driving school
student, I was not sure what to expect when I signed up with the drivingschool.ca.
I was extremely anxious and nervous about driving, and had zero confidence
in my abilities. I found the in class part of the program very informative,
and Gerry always made it interesting and fun. I enjoyed Gerry's direct,
in your face approach. Driving is serious stuff, and shouldn't be sugar
coated. The in car part of my training was even better. Both Gerry and
Trevor went above and beyond to help me feel at ease in the car. I think
this is a truly fantastic program, and I recommend it to everyone I
know. I can now say with total honesty and confidence that I'm a good
and safe driver. Thanks Gerry and Trevor!
what a sucky testimonial lol. Feel free to not use it if you don't like
it. Testimonials are hard to write. I tried, I tried!!
driving is going so-so..........i hate Kevin's truck with a passion,
'coz I can't seem to make it out of my driveway with the stupid thing.
oh, and I almost got t-boned last tuesday................if you and
Trevor hadn't drilled "left-center-right scan" into my head,
I'd be embalming you from the hospital. I was at the intersection at
Churchill and James ( yes, right at the end of my street) and the light
was red, so I stopped. The light turned green, so I did my scan, started
to go across, and some lunatic in a minivan blew the red light, and
did a left turn on to Churchill at like 50 km an hour. Luckily I had
taken the time to do my scan, I was going slow enough to stop safely,
and saw him and knew he wasn't stopping. It could have been nasty. So,
thanks!! I'm glad you taught me the scan again and again and again.
Take care,
pauline
Hey Pauline,
Thanks for the testimonial. I guess I "forgot"
to tell you that I will post them unedited. It was fun teaching you.
Not a challenge, but you made us earn every penny. I guess your training
got better when you started telling yourself......... "you are
a good driver Pauline". That was the turning point in your training.
Glad to hear scanning your intersection saved
you life!

Well here's the testimonial...
Dear Gerry:)
So the other day I was in chem. class and some kid was talking about
his driving school... So wont lie, I was listening and he was talking
about how his instructor lets them do whatever they want during the
in class stuff... As long as they pass the test at the end... And I
almost
crapped my pants... Because if we had pulled that with you, you would
have flat out told us to leave. I love how you actually cared about
us and you wanted us to learn the right and safe way to drive. I'm also
glad that you told it how it was and didn't sugar coat it because lets
face it.. Driving can be dangerous... I learnt allot from you and I'm
sure that if I hadn't gone to your driving school there would have been
a few times that my car got smashed up...and I REALLY wouldn't have
liked that. I ALWAYS stop for stop signs... None of that rolling stop
stuff...
And I make sure I scan intersections all the time. And when people ask
me about driving schools I recommend you, you know what you're doing
and you know what you're teaching (Trevor too). But I really can't think
of anything else to write about how amazing your driving school is so
I'm gonna stop... Be happy that I finally wrote this... And it bettttttter
be on your site or I'll be super super angry.
Bye,
Alex :)
p.s. Where the eff is my free T-Shirt.... you still owe me that! :)
Hey Alex,
It was fun teaching you but the lack of practice
hurt you. It took a while to get into the "practice mode"
you needed to become a better driver. I had to put up the "poop"
a few times and finally things started to move forward. Just remember
it's 100% of your attention when it comes to driver: no distractions!
Keep out of trouble and I will see you around!
Don't worry, when I get more T Shirts, you will
get one! Great job in getting perfect on your written test........ you
earned the T Shirt!

Hey Gerry,
So I have to say I am so grateful I took your class... you take the
time out for each student and you make sure that they don't just know
how to drive, but how to drive safely. I am feeling so much more confident
now...and OH-MY-GOD! the night I got my insurance I took out the van,
and it was late... and I was scanning the road (country road) and
guess what? your going to be proud of me :D I saw the deer ahead of
time . no joke... haha! but honestly... I don't think I would have
become half the driver I am if I took any other course, I am always
recommending you...although I tend to warn my friends that your voice
really never leaves the head once your out in the real world... it's
kind of creepy haha. I also want to say that your in class wasn't
as boring as my other friends have said about their driving schools...
so at least that went by fast :) so with that said, thanks for driving
me insane with your crazy in car singing, I'm going to put a damper
on your spirits, because I guarantee I wont be having deer burgers
for take out ;) Take care bud!
Hi Kara,
Glad to hear you are using some of the skills
I taught you! I will never forget you as the student who did not see
the deer 20 yards in front of the car. "Do you see it.... the
deer...." and you replied "oh...yeah... now I do!".
Silly Kara!
Keep out of trouble and remember to listen
to your dad, he has the experience that you will benefit from!
See you on the road.
Gerry
